Meet Attorney Kenneth H. Hooks, III
Hello. My name is Kenneth H. Hooks, III, and I am a maritime lawyer based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the United States of America. I am a partner at the respected maritime law firm Dodson & Hooks, APLC. For over 20 years, I have dedicated my legal career to helping injured seafarers and families of deceased crew members—especially those from India and other countries working on international vessels.
I represent Indian nationals who have been hurt while working at sea, who have not been paid their rightful wages, or who have lost loved ones in tragic maritime accidents. I understand the unique challenges faced by Indian seafarers and their families, and I know how difficult it is to get fair compensation when the accident happens far from home. I have helped many Indian families collect money from large foreign shipowners and employers—and I may be able to help you too.
What We Do
At Dodson & Hooks, we represent:

Indian seafarers who were injured on international cargo ships, tankers, container vessels, fishing boats, cruise ships, and offshore oil rigs.

Indian crew members who have been denied medical treatment or whose injuries were not properly cared for.
Real Help from a Real Lawyer
Many lawyers and agencies promise help—but few know how to actually bring cases in U.S. courts and win real money for seafarers. I have done it many times.
When you hire me:
- I will review your case for free.
- You do not have to pay any money upfront. I only get paid if I win or settle your case.
- I will speak directly with you or your family by WhatsApp, phone, or email.
- I will explain your rights and options in clear, simple language.
- I will prepare your documents and handle the legal work.
- You usually do not have to come to the U.S. in person.

You Are Not Alone
Many Indian seafarers feel helpless after an injury, or after the death of a loved one. They don’t know their legal rights. They don’t know whom to trust. They are often told to take a small amount of money and sign away their rights.
Do not do that. Talk to us first.
We are here to help you understand your legal rights. We will be honest with you. We will explain your options and give you a chance to fight for justice.
